Installation

The Open BIM-Revit Plugin is installed on the same device as Revit. Please note that the LT version of any Revit version does not support the installation of add-ons.

The plugin can be installed in two ways:

• From CYPE Menu, in the "Interoperability" section, click on "Plugin Open BIM – Revit" to automatically install the selected version. During the process, consider the "Installation scope", which has two options: installation for the current user or for all users. These options will determine where the plugin will be installed, with the current user option taking precedence.
• From BIMserver.center, in the Store, click on "Download" and run the Open BIM - Revit Plugin installer in the desired version. As in the previous option, you will need to consider whether you want to install it for the current user or for all users.

Once installed, if you run "Plugin Open BIM - Revit.exe" without administrator permissions, a window will open showing the Revit versions installed on the machine, the available version of the plugin to be installed, and which Revit versions have it installed. From this window, you can install the plugin on the available Revit versions. Normally, this .exe executable is located in the following path: C:\CYPE Ingenieros\**Version**\Plugin Open BIM – Revit.
