The 2019.a version includes a new check for stairs: “Allow for direct communication between floors above and below ground level” (General options > Checks > Stairs button > edit or create a check).
If this option is activated, the program allows for an ascending stair to share the landing with a descending stair, to create a single staircase.
If the option is deactivated, the ascending stair and descending stair cannot share the landing and must be separate, in two different staircases, and by doing so, prevents any smoke coming up from floors lower down from invading the higher floors of the project.
The image shows two different staircases. As occurs with other checks, it is possible to add the article and description of the code that allows for there to be direct communication between them.
