CYPE advises the National Development Agency of the Democratic Republic of East Timor on the creation of a Construction Cost Database

The architecture, engineering and construction software company CYPE, through its distributor Top Informática in Portugal, is advising the National Development Agency (NDA) of the Democratic Republic of East Timor, on the creation of a National Construction Cost Database for use in public works projects supervised by the institution.

For the development of this new software tool, a representative from Top Informática has travelled to East Timor to meet with the NDA team in charge of the creation of this cost database led by Eurico Mangas, who has highlighted the importance of having a tool where the market prices in this country are regulated and updated.

For Carlos Fernández, Technical Director of CYPE, the East Timor Construction Cost Database will provide costs adjusted to its geographical and typological reality though a system that will take into account aspects like the type of construction, technical specifications as well as labour, material and machinery costs in the country.

The creation of the East Timor Construction Cost Database will take the form of a database developed with Arquimedes software, and will use CYPE’s Construction Cost Database (Generador de Precios) as a reference, which “will allow costs to be updated based on market trends”, explains CYPE’s technical director.

With this collaboration agreement, CYPE reinforces its commitment to the Asian market that began two years ago, and which in recent months has led it to implement local design codes of different countries on the Asian continent in its different software programmes.
