The software company for architecture, engineering and construction CYPE has entered the Turkish market thanks to the signing of five agreements with different universities in the country for the use among its students of software specialized in energy efficiency and adapted to Open BIM technology developed by the Spanish company. In particular, the universities that have acquired the CYPE computing solutions are the Dokuz Eylul University inIzmir, the Middle East Technical University of Architecture in Ankara, the Istanbul Technical University in Istanbul, Hasan Kalyoncu University in Gaziantep and Siirt University in Siirt.

For Carlos Fernández, technical director of CYPE, the signing of these agreements is the company's first step in the Turkish market and is an excellent opportunity to show the tools of the Spanish company amongst the students and professionals in the sector of the construction in Turkey. "For us the collaboration with universities, schools and training centers is of vital importance in our growth plans and, therefore, today we have more than 1,000 agreements signed with different training schools around the world", highlights the technical director of CYPE.

With regards to the plans of CYPE in Turkey, Carlos Fernández explains that, as the ICEX reports that the country has problems to meet the maximum peaks of electricity demand and has a great dependence on fossil fuels, so the government is making important investments in reducing electricity demand and consumption by encouraging, among other aspects, renewable energies and efficiency in housing construction.

“In the building and construction sector in which we operate, CYPE has specialized software to improve the energy efficiency of buildings and homes, which is interesting for professionals working in Turkey when using our internationally recognized calculation engine tools", points out Carlos Fernández, who emphasizes that it is precisely "our specialized software in energy efficiency that these universities have acquired".

In fact, the five academic institutions have acquired the solution of CYPE Suite programs for the thermal and energetic analysis of the building, lighting, acoustic, sound and fire extinguishing, among other areas. This package of programs is also integrated in Open BIM technology, which allows them to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary and multi-user workflow. "The five universities are going to include our programs in the courses and programs they have on BIM and which are aimed at students as well as active professionals", says Carlos Fernández.

In order to cater for market in Turkey, CYPE Software has delegated SAF MMM Moiz Meseri & Tanju Kılınçarslan Partnership as their local distributor.

The named cooperation is the result of SAFMMM’s deep urge to bring to perfection its service quality for the building industry in architectural works and engineering consultancy by obtaining prominent software solutions and CYPE Spain’s enthusiasm to develop its existing market share reached since its journey started in 1983.

Presently all players of the building industry are capable of benefiting from all the software developed by CYPE for architecture engineering and construction either through SAF MMM’s consultancy and support services or directly by purchasing licenses for their organisations.
