One of the epicentres of innovation in construction has been in Kuala Lumpur this week. The BuildXpo 2024, an event organised by CIDB and held from 22 to 24 October, provided a unique space where the latest sustainable technologies and practices in the sector were presented. Attendees had the opportunity to discover a hands-on environment where they could learn first-hand about the most innovative solutions and connect with professionals from all over the world.

Our team was an active part of this event, regarding the future of construction. Live demonstrations showed how our BIM tools, aimed at improving efficiency and sustainability, are transforming how construction projects are made. These solutions are helping the AEC industry to move towards greater productivity.

During our stay in Kuala Lumpur, we had a stand at the ICW, where the Malaysian Minister of Labour visited us to learn more about our tools. This meeting highlights the government's interest in our technology solutions and their positive impact on the industry.

Sharing knowledge

In addition to presenting our tools, CYPE reaffirmed its commitment to the Asian market. With its focus on sustainable infrastructures, Malaysia is the perfect environment to demonstrate how our solutions can be adapted to regional demands.

During the event, our Director of Innovation, Pablo Gilabert, gave a presentation on "Unlocking efficiency and navigating regulations in construction with Open BIM: The future of smart building design". He highlighted CYPEURBAN's role in key projects such as Mahou-Calderón and the Los Berrocales development in Madrid. This program provided more efficient processing through digital models and BIM methodology, which demonstrated its impact on an international level. We also gave a presentation at the offices of E-construct, a company belonging to the CIDB group.

We were also invited to visit Merdeka 118, the second-tallest building in the world. Although not yet completed, this visit allowed us to see how our solutions can be integrated into large-scale architectural projects.

Our commitment to sustainability

At CYPE, we understand that the future of construction is linked to sustainability. That is why our tools, such as Open BIM Quantities, play a crucial role in assessing the environmental impact of projects. These solutions not only help to create accurate bills of quantities but also integrate environmental indicators that offer a detailed view of the life cycle of projects, from the first phases to the later phases.

Using this technology, professionals can make informed decisions that reduce the ecological impact of their projects, and encourage more responsible building practices.

During our visit to Malaysia, we also met with the Ambassador of Spain and were visited at our stand by the Malaysian Minister of Works, YB Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, accompanied by the Malaysian Deputy Minister of Works, YB Datuk Seri Haji Ahmad bin Haji Maslan; the Secretary General of the Minister of Works, YBhg Dato‘ Seri Azman bin Ibrahim; and the CEO of CIDB Malaysia, Dato’ Mr. Mohd Zaid Zakaria. These meetings strengthened our international relationships and opened up new opportunities to collaborate on initiatives that promote innovation and sustainability in construction.

CYPE's participation at BuildXpo 2024 not only highlighted our innovative solutions, but also reaffirmed our relationship with the Asian market and our commitment to the digital transformation of the industry.

The BIM tools we have presented are helping to create more efficient, sustainable projects that are adapted to regional challenges. In doing so, CYPE continues on the path towards more responsible and environmentally conscious construction and moves towards a more efficient and sustainable future, both in Asia and all over the world.
