Calculation of slip circles (global stability)

The “Calculation of slip circles (global stability)” module, in StruBIM Embedded Walls, is used for analysing and tracing slip circles in the global stability check.

The program can analyse the global stability by obtaining the critical slip circle. It can be checked on screen (in the phase being displayed) by means of the "Critical slip circle" option in the "Analysis" menu.

Best practice:
The critical slip circle is checked in phases where floor slabs have not yet been constructed. This is because, in phases during which these floor slabs are operational, the construction that has been carried out up to that point is assumed to prevent the development of the slip

Defining the safety factors

In the "Project" menu, under "Options", users can define the safety factors for checking the slip circle. Different factors can be defined for the "With seismic" loading and "Without seismic" loading tests.

More information:
For more information on the "Critical slip circle" option, please refer to the "Analysis" section in StruBIM Embedded Walls.

Results output

With the "Calculation of slip circles (global stability)" module, the program displays the following results:

  • Contour plots
Allows users to display the contour plot map of safety factors on the position of all the analysed slip circles on the screen.
  • Reports
Allows users to obtain the list of "Stability checks (Critical slip circle)" report.

Other features

StruBIM Embedded Walls has different modules that can be combined to increase the tool's abilities.
