General recommendations for preventing and/or identifying errors
The following general recommendations may help to reduce the likelihood of errors occurring, to identify them once they do occur, or to restore backups:
- Examine the file to try to identify any unusual or particularly complex situations that may be difficult to resolve through the program’s internal processes. Delete or remove the elements involved in that situation and reenter them more clearly. You may use the following error search and localisation methods.
- Please ensure that you have entered all the required information into the program, including all references and parameters in the various alphanumeric fields used to define elements.
- Locate and study a similar example, if one exists, under "File" → "Examples", and try to reproduce the structure of the information shown in the example in your own project.
- Save manual backup copies regularly and use different file names via "File" → "Save as", so that you can return to a working version of the model at any time.
- The program automatically creates backup copies in files with the extension ending in the dollar symbol ($) in the same directory as the template file. If needed, you can recover the data from these backups using various methods.
