Justifying compliance with urban planning regulations can be a real challenge in the early stages of a project, as this is often complicated and involves time-consuming procedures. In this context, where delays in the granting of licenses are common, CYPEURBAN is an essential ally, as it is focused on digitisation to shorten deadlines and improve efficiency in the management of planning permissions.
Not only does CYPEURBAN significantly reduce waiting times for planning permissions and make it easier to enter and check planning parameters, it also simplifies code compliance. This free tool appeals to both experienced professionals and students, as it gives them the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the professional environment in a practical way. CYPEURBAN represents a breakthrough in the way planning permissions are managed and granted.
What makes CYPEURBAN such an innovative tool?
Our program can completely transform licensing management, taking public administration to a new level of efficiency and accuracy. By digitising monitoring and licensing, the program demonstrates its ability and advanced capabilities to streamline processes and improve transparency when reviewing projects.
Speeding up licensing times
CYPECAD automates code compliance and avoids manually checking every detail to ensure that they comply with local by-laws, significantly reducing the time required. Our program analyses and extracts information directly from the BIM model, carrying out automatic checks to ensure that every aspect of the project complies with the requirements. This allows professionals to focus on design and innovation, without getting lost in bureaucracy.
Customising codes
Another feature that makes the difference is the customisation of codes. CYPEURBAN can digitalise and adjust the specific urban planning regulations for each town so that each project can be reviewed according to the local code. This ensures that the verifications are accurate and relevant.
Managing automated spaces
When it comes to space management, CYPEURBAN minimises potential errors and saves time, allowing for more precise space management by automating the definition of usable and constructed surfaces.
Innovating in project verification
But that's not all; CYPEURBAN also excels in project verification. It generates detailed reports that can compare project values with code requirements, making it easier to export the results for later documentation. This ability to verify results in real time and to document them properly is essential for ensuring transparency and successfully defending the project before the relevant municipal authorities.
What can it offer you?
This program is more than a management tool; it is an ecosystem that supports you at every stage of your urban planning project, with features designed to improve collaboration, flexibility and decision-making.
Facilitating collaboration
Collaboration between multidisciplinary teams becomes a fluid and effective process with CYPEURBAN. The integration with BIMserver.center allows everyone involved in the project to participate in a collaborative and centralised environment, sharing information and updating the project in real time. This capability not only improves communication, but also ensures seamless coordination between all parties involved. Compatibility with popular BIM tools removes technological barriers, and allows all participants, regardless of the program they use, to bring their contribution to the development of the project.
Furthermore, its ability to export BIM models significantly facilitates the review and verification on other platforms, ensuring that projects are ready to be assessed by other professionals or regulatory bodies.
Offering greater flexibility
The possibility of importing models from different BIM platforms allows you to use the program of your choice, so CYPEURBAN can be integrated without the need to alter the usual workflow. Also, the ability to customise and load libraries of town-specific regulations makes it possible to adjust to local requirements and justify urban planning details to improve communication with the technicians reviewing planning permissions.
Providing support for decision-making
As it is integrated with BIMserver.center, the program can ensure access to the latest project information. This centralisation and constant updating of data makes it easier to make informed decisions at every stage of construction.
CYPEURBAN's global footprint
CYPEURBAN is making its mark internationally in its commitment to digitalisation for the management of planning permissions in order to minimise delays when they are granted. In Madrid, the use of the program extends from the successful Mahou-Calderón project and the Los Berrocales development, which enabled more efficient processing through the use of digital models and BIM methodology.
Similarly, in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, licensing is being digitised with CYPEURBAN to streamline procedures and optimise communication between the city council and professionals in the industry. In France, the city of Rennes integrates CYPEURBAN into its 3DEXPERIENCity Virtual Rennes project, facilitating digital urban planning and improving efficiency in code verification.
“The Mahou-Calderón experiment has shown that the digitisation of the supervision and granting of planning permissions is useful for both the local authority specialist and the planner, as it enables the latter to check the work before submitting the licence, for example, which gives him greater legal certainty and avoids misinterpretations,” highlights Pablo Gilabert, CYPE's Innovation Director.
A revolution in licence management
The digitisation of planning permission management, promoted by tools such as CYPEURBAN, represents a significant advance in reducing delays and improving efficiency in the approval process. By implementing digital solutions, it is not only possible to speed up the review and approval of projects, but also to ensure accurate code compliance. CYPEURBAN makes the process easier by integrating digital models and BIM methodology, which leads to more efficient management and a clearer flow of information between local specialists and planners.
With this goal in mind and as part of our commitment to innovation, we were also involved in the European research project CHEK DBP (Digital Building Permit). This project aimed to develop innovative tools to support the digitisation of urban planning permits and the automation of compliance checks. Within CHEK DBP, our role was to improve the scalability of CYPEURBAN, demonstrating its ability to adapt to different European contexts, such as those of Lisbon, Prague, Vila Nova de Gaia and Ascoli Piceno, cities acting as partners in the project.
With the experience gained from international projects, this innovative approach marks a fundamental change in the way planning permissions are managed. The use of CYPEURBAN in cities such as Madrid, Vila Nova de Gaia and Rennes demonstrates its potential to transform the process and set a new standard for public administration and the construction industry.
