A delegation of Malaysian representatives formed by members of CIDB E-Construct Services (CIDBEC), a body under the Malaysia Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), has been visiting CYPE's facilities in Alicante and Madrid. During the course of a week, they have been able to learn more about the use of its digital solutions, establish synergies to make them available to the country's construction industry and, as a result, improve the competitiveness of Malaysian companies.
This visit by CIDBEC is the second meeting that CYPE has held in Spain with this institution after the one held last June, which focused on getting to know and use CYPE's programs for preparing construction bills of quantities in the Open BIM workflow.
This time, the sessions focused on the different CYPE programs for the design and analysis of structures, project management via the BIMserver.center cloud platform and the practical application of CYPE's augmented reality and virtual reality solutions in construction projects.
To this end, Haji Razuki Ibrahim, Deputy Chief Executive, CIDB; and Ts. Rofizlan Ahmad, Roslan Ezhar Abdul Karim and Sharifuddin Umar, from CIDBEC, met with CYPE experts for an in-depth look at the advantages that the Spanish technology company's software can bring to the Malaysian construction industry.
"Our goal is to provide innovative, beneficial and sustainable IT solutions for our construction industry," explained the representatives of CIDB E-Construct Services. Therefore, they are focused on boosting the use of BIM software in their country, which is why they trust in CYPE's programs.
With the aim of improving construction in Malaysia, the delegation was also interested in learning about CYPE's collaboration with universities around the world regarding training. In this field, Carlos Fernández, CYPE's technical director, stated "We informed them about the Campus versions and the use of the BIMserver.center Education platform, and we visited both the Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (UMH) and the Universidad de Alicante (UA) so they could learn about this educational cooperation first-hand".
The visit to the Madrid offices and to the Eduardo Torroja Institute for construction sciences (IETCC)
After spending four days in Alicante, the Malaysian delegation visited CYPE's offices in Madrid and used this opportunity to visit the Eduardo Torroja Institute for construction sciences (IETCC), which belongs to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). CYPE has been collaborating with this research and scientific-technical assistance centre in the field of construction in Spain, which is the most important in the country, for years and has participated in various research projects and technical conferences related to areas such as building and habitability, structural engineering, materials and construction systems for building, among others.
For Carlos Fernández, this new technical visit from Malaysia highlights the positive response to CYPE's programs in the country, as well as in the rest of the Asian continent, where the Spanish technology company is immersed in an intense internationalisation process. In recent months, CYPE has been increasing its commercial visits to Asia, as well as its participation in professional meetings, such as the BIM Summit 2022 organised by the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) at its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur; the "2023 China International Solar Photovoltaic and Smart Energy Expo" fair or the "Secutech Fire & Safety 2023" fire safety event in Taiwan. At the same time, it is also expanding its collaboration with Asian universities in countries such as Japan, Vietnam and South Korea, among others.
