As well as the new features and improvements that are indicated explicitly in each CYPE software version update, these updates also include process optimisations which imply internal improvements of our programs. Systematic checks are carried out on all the programs in each revision, as well as changes which improve their operation. Therefore, we recommend all our users (in this case of the 2016 version) to always update their program version to the latest available version, regardless of the country CYPE software is being used for or the language in which the program is installed.

To help to alternate between the “Job item assignment and quantity extraction” and “Linked job data” dialogue boxes, the button has been added to both dialogue boxes. The F7 key also carries out the same alternating function between the dialogue boxes. - button
The button has been added to the “Job item assignment and quantity extraction” and “Linked job data” dialogue boxes. This button is the access point to the different options in each of these dialogue boxes:
- In the “Job assignment and quantity extraction” dialogue box, the button allows users to access the Global quantity filters and the Design options.
- In the “Linked job data” dialogue box, the button allows users to access the “Find element by ID” option.
- In the “Job assignment and quantity extraction” dialogue box, the button allows users to access the Global quantity filters and the Design options.
The Design options consist of design alternatives which, by always working on a single model, allow users to save a substantial amount of work.
For example, two or more proposals can be carried out simultaneously to show clients various alternatives. Therefore, Arquimedes’ new “Design options” tool allows users to only measure Revit entities which belong to the design options selected in the Revit model. This tool permits users to extract different quantities depending on the quantity options that have been created in the Revit model, to obtain different quantity values.
The button, in the “Job assignment and quantity extraction” dialogue box, allows users to access the “Design options” (if design options have been created in the Revit model) and select the group of design options to apply when extracting quantities to create the bill of quantities.
Quantity filters allow users to obtain the quantities of job items that are only assigned to phases, categories, levels or assignments (entity–job item) of Revit and are to be measured. Two types of filters can be established:
- Global filters (categories, phases and levels)
Global filters are created using the Quantity filters option in the drop-down menu that appears when the button of the “Job item assignment and quantity extraction” dialogue box is pressed. - Filters by assignment (entity – job item)
Filters by assignment allow users to obtain quantities only from elements that meet specific requirements. Filters created by assigning job items to entities are saved by categories. Filters of this type are created based on the element parameters.
Once a job item has been assigned to a Revit entity or vice-versa, filters can be carried out by assignments. If, for example, users wish to filter elements whose length is less than 12 m, they must first press the button and, in the “Select a filter to limit the elements to be measured” dialogue box, add the filter.

The 2016.c version of Arquimedes has been updated to adapt the quantity imports of Allplan to its new version "Allplan® 2016 (64-bit)".
To obtain the quantities of a job item from a Revit BIM model using the “Bill of quantities of Revit models” module of Arquimedes, the job item must be associated with a Revit entity or vice-versa. The Status of the quantities basically allows users to see which job items or entities of Revit still have to be assigned to be able to extract their quantities. This way, the status of the quantity extractions of the Revit model can be known.
To view these statuses, marks are placed on the icons of the job items, chapters and Revit entities (Types, Categories, Families and Materials). These marks and statuses can be seen in the “Job item assignment and quantity extraction” dialogue box.
The marks that can appear when working with the “Bill of quantities of Revit models” module and their meaning are as follows:
- When job items are not assigned:
- - Do not assign the job item to the Revit entity
- - Pending assignment to the Revit entity
- When job items are assigned:
- - Without quantity parameters
- - With parameters, but without parameter combination for the measurement units
- - Parameter combination available
- - Predefined parameter combination
- - Verified or validated
“Paint” has been added as a material to the Revit model. This way, quantities can be obtained using this Revit entity from the “Materials” tab of the “Assign job items and quantity extraction” dialogue box.
Since sub-categories can now be imported, length-type job items such as washboards, moulds, drains, etc, can be measured by sweeping.
As of the 2016.a version, sub-categories are included in the Revit model that is imported to Arquimedes. These appear at category level in the “Assign job items and quantity extraction” dialogue box in the “Revit entities” tab.
The change tracking system has been improved for the “Bill of quantities of Revit models” module.
When the “Update changes carried out in Revit, in Arquimedes” option is used (after a change in the Revit model that is already linked to the Arquimedes job), a dialogue box appears: “Update the changed carried out in the Revit model linked to this job” where the entities of the Revit model are marked with (entity not modified) (modified entity), (new entity) or (deleted entity).
By double clicking with the mouse button on a Revit entity (Type, Element, Material or Room) marked with the , symbol, a dialogue box will appear displaying the parameters that have changed in red.
If users press the “Accept” button in the “Update changes carried out in the Revit model linked to this job” dialogue box, the changes will be saved and another dialogue box will appear: “Assign job items and quantity extraction” to continue with the work. However, if users cancel the “Update changes carried out in the Revit model linked to this job” dialogue box without accepting the changes, no dialogue box will be displayed.
Quantity combinations for job items measured by number of units can now be created using the “Bill of quantities of Revit models” module.
