CYPETHERM LOADS

Clip volume

As of version 2022.b, applications with 3D drawing surroundings allow a viewing volume to be defined from the geometric envelope of the scene content. The arrows allow the viewing volume to be adjusted by moving their faces and the arches allow the viewing volume to be adjusted by means of 6 clips planes.

Generation of climate data based on design conditions

With this new data import assistant, users can generate the total climatic data requested by the program which is required for analysing thermal loads, based on main location data (design conditions).

This new feature is added to the existing feature of importing data based on the ASHRAE climatic database (ASHRAE Weather Data Viewer 6.0).

Additionally, to facilitate the introduction of these minimum design conditions, an assistant has been implemented to allow them to be imported from the location selected on a map, a feature available for locations in Spain, France and Portugal.

Importing construction systems by Grupo Valero

In the previous version (2021.f), the CYPE Construction Systems and CYPETHERM LOADS programs included the option of importing insulation from the manufacturer Grupo Valero to act as layers of the construction systems defined in these programs.

Now, in version 2022.a of the same programs, complete construction systems offered by the manufacturer Grupo Valero can be imported, including the products in their insulation catalogue. These systems can be imported using the icon displaying the Grupo Valero logo in the CYPE Construction Systems and CYPETHERM LOADS applications. Depending on the type of construction system to be defined, the corresponding group of products is shown: external walls, roofs, slabs between floors or floors in contact with the ground.

The components that appear in Grupo Valero’s construction solutions catalogue have been divided according to the climate zone where the project is located. Consequently, users must indicate this information before choosing the most appropriate solution. The selection panel shows the layers of the materials of which it is composed and their total thickness along with the system reference in order to facilitate this choice.

It is important to note that if the construction systems are defined in CYPE Construction Systems, it will not be necessary to reassign them in the thermal study applications as the information is transmitted via the Open BIM workflow.

Although Grupo Valero icons can be found in all the languages in which the aforementioned applications are installed, the manufacturer’s construction systems shown correspond to the products supplied by Grupo Valero in Spain.

General improvements

Version 2021.g of CYPE’s programs is a closing version of the 2021 version.

As well as the new features and improvements expressly indicated in each version of CYPE software, process optimisation involving internal updates for all our programs is normally included. In each revision, all programs are systematically checked and changes are made to improve their performance, therefore, we recommend that our users (in this case those of v.2021) always update their version to the latest one, regardless of the country for which they are using CYPE software or the language in which it is installed.

Importing insulation products by Grupo Valero

From version 2021.f, users can import the thermal parameters of insulation products by Grupo Valero into the configuration of a multi-layered construction system in CYPETHERM LOADS. In the layer definition panel, the Grupo Valero icon now appears on the right-hand side of the window. By clicking on it, users can access the manufacturer's database for an updated list of their available insulation products. Users can browse the products in order to select those appropriate and, by accepting the panel, its properties will be imported into the corresponding application.

If the construction systems in CYPE Construction Systems have already been linked, it will not be necessary to re-assign any material-related data in the analysis tools.

Importing the construction systems by Grupo Valero will also be available, as of this versión, in CYPE Construction Systems.

Although the Grupo Valero icon in the layer definition panel is displayed in every language the application is installed in, the manufacturer's insulations that appear correspond to the products supplied by Grupo Valero in Spain.

URSA product update

Update of the thermal insulation products by the manufacturer URSA according to its 2021 catalogue.

Export/Import the analysis and study of the thermal bridges

As of the 2021.c version, CYPETHERM LOADS, CYPETHERM EPlus, CYPETHERM RT2012, CYPETHERM RT2012 CNOA, CYPETHERM COMETH, CYPETHERM RTExistant, CYPETHERM RECS and CYPETHERM Fujitsu can import, from a BIM project that is located on the BIMserver.center platform, the analysis and study of the thermal bridges that any of them has exported to the project. This way, once the study has been carried out on one of them, it will be available to the rest without having to repeat it in each program.

ASHRAE weather database update

The ASHRAE weather database has been updated to “Weather Data Viewer” version 6.0. This database has 8118 stations located throughout the world, included in 2017 ASHRAE Handbook, and is available in CYPECAD MEP, CYPETHERM LOADS, Open BIM TOSHIBA, Open BIM DAIKIN, Open BIM FUJITSU and Open BIM MIDEA.

64-bit Version

As of the 2019.f version, CYPE programs (those downloaded from our website and those downloaded from the BIMserver.center platform) are compiled for 64-bit systems. The 64-bit compilation of CYPE software implies the use of the superior features of 64-bit processors and operating systems compared to those of 32 bits.

Please bear in mind that you must have a 64-bit operating system to be able to work with any 64-bit software.

In any case and as a temporary measure, the 2019.f version is available in 64 and 32 bits on the download area of our webpage. The programs that can be downloaded from the BIMserver.center platform are only available in 64 bits. If you have a 64-bit operating system, you can work with either the 64-bit and 32-bit version of our software, although we strongly recommend that you install the 64-bit CYPE software version.

You can see which operating system is installed on your computer by clicking on "Control panel > System".

Since 64-bit microprocessors began to be massively introduced into personal computers from 2003 and from the Windows XP version, Microsoft already offers the two versions of its operating systems (32 and 64 bits). We understand that almost all our users will have computers with 64-bit processors (x64) and 64-bit operating systems.

It could occur that a user may wish to work with a computer with a 64-bit processor but with a 32-bit operating system. It would be very strange if the computer had a 32-bit processor (x86 - computers over 15 years old). If any of these is your case, we advise you to talk to your hardware or software provider to update your situation as soon as possible. However, you can download the 32-bit version and work with CYPE programs that can be downloaded from our website until your situation is up-to-date.

Errors corrected in CYPETHERM LOADS

The “Location data” panel of CYPETHERM LOADS of the 2019.b version did not save the changes that had been carried out by users. The problem has been corrected in the 2019.c version.

Thermal envelope of the building in GLTF standard format

As of the 2019.b version, CYPETHERM LOADS exports two independent GLTF files (attached to the IFC), containing the thermal information of the enclosures of the building, to the BIM project located on the BIMserver.center platform. Each GLTF file allows users to view the data differently in any viewer that interprets the GLTF standard format (AUTODESK Viewer, glTF Viewer, BIMserver.center web viewer...):

  • Thermal model, by element
The complete construction solutions used in the building are shown together with their properties (reference, thickness and thermal resistance).

  • Thermal model, by layers
The individual layers making up each construction solution are shown together with their properties reference, thickness and thermal resistance).

Adjacent spaces in thermal and acoustic programs

When CYPE thermal and acoustic programs import an IFC file that does not contain information on adjacent spaces, they analyse the file and the layout of the spaces to detect what type of spaces are adjacent to them.

As of previous versions, these adjacent spaces were included automatically in the IFC files that are generated by IFC Builder (free CYPE application designed for the creation and maintenance of IFC building models), as this program generates them. Other CAD/BIM programs (such as Allplan®, Archicad®, Revit®...) do not export this information to IFC files, hence, if one of these programs was being used as the initial tool of the BIM model, the boundaries had to be defined by users in each specialised acoustic and thermal application.

With this important new feature of the 2018.j version, information on adjacent spaces is included in CYPE thermal and acoustic programs, regardless of which CAD/BIM program is used as the geometric modeller of the Open BIM project.

Below is a list displaying the thermal and acoustic programs CYPE has available that benefit from this new feature:
