CYPEHVAC

The following modifications have been made to the availability of the applications from the CYPE Menu.

New:

  • CYPEHVAC Schematics

  • ELODIE by CYPE (Only in the CYPE Menu in French)

Deleted:

  • CYPELEC Core, CYPELEC REBT, CYPELEC NF and CYPELEC RETIE. They are joined together in a single program called CYPELEC.

  • CYPESOUND CTE, CYPESOUND NRA, CYPESOUND RRAE, CYPESOUND DRAPDE. They are integrated into CYPESOUND.

  • CYPEURBAN. Available for download and installation from the BIMserver.center platform.

  • IFC Uploader. New contributions can now be created directly from the project page on the BIMserver.center platform.

  • CYPEFIRE FDS Viewer. CYPEFIRE FDS can be used to view FDS simulations.

The "Updates" option has been implemented in the main CYPE Menu window. Thanks to this tool, multiple updates of installed applications can be carried out via the CYPE Menu.


When clicking on the “Updates” option, a window opens with a list of all installed applications. Select a set of them and, after clicking "Accept", the update process will start.

During this process, progress is displayed in the main CYPE Menu window indicating the current status of the update.

If an update is available for the CYPE Menu itself, it is shown below the list of applications to be updated. However, it is important to note that the update of the CYPE Menu is carried out on its own.


This new feature makes application maintenance easier, ensuring that the latest improvements are always available.

As of version 2025.a, it is now possible to copy ("Ctrl+C") a group of elements and paste ("Ctrl+V") them in several places with the selection tool. In previous versions, the elements selected for copying could only be pasted once.

The following changes have been made to the options bar for entering elements in the work area:

  • New “Force elevation” feature
    The "2D Mode" and "3D Mode" options have been replaced by the "Force elevation" option. When the "Force dimension" option is activated, when snapping a model component, its position will be projected onto the work plane, where the new element will be inserted.
    Alternatively, when snapping a model component, the new element will be inserted at the exact position of that component, even if it is outside the working plane.

  • Viewing limits warning
    If, when entering an element in a model view, it lies beyond the visible range, a warning is now displayed in the options bar. This warning, "The point entered is beyond the limits of the view", alerts users about the position of the element beyond the visible area on the screen, allowing for a quick and accurate correction.

As of version 2025.a, CYPE applications with a "Ribbon" have a customisable quick access toolbar (QAT), located in the top left corner of the program. This bar contains a set of commands that are separate from the active ribbon tab.

To add or remove a command from the quick access toolbar, a button has been included to access the configuration of the toolbar. Clicking it displays a window where users can add commands from the application's menus. Specific commands can be selected or all the commands found in a menu can be added using the "Assign all" button.

The list of commands added to the quick access toolbar provides options to perform the following actions:

  • Move up (move to the left) or move down (move to the right) commands in the toolbar.
  • Add a dividing line to the right of the button.
  • Remove a command or dividing line from the toolbar.

Each application can include several commands in the initial settings of the quick access toolbar and can be restored using the "Default settings" option. Furthermore, applications that are connected to the BIMserver.center platform include the "Update" and "Share" options in their default settings.

A new element has been added to the duct layout design tools that allows users to indicate the start of the system, in case they want to design a duct system without specifying the starting machine.

Furthermore, the duct installation is completed by automatically including sealing surfaces at the ends of the ducts, if required.

This version of CYPEHVAC slightly modifies the management of the relationships between the imported thermal loads and the terminal elements of the system. Now, the parameters of the terminal units include the "Assigned thermal loads", i.e. the loads to which they will contribute their power and from which the power requirements to be contributed and design temperatures will be extracted:

The program allows users to import thermal loads from the BIM model, in which case they will have an associated geometry and the program will allow them to be associated to the units automatically, by means of their layout. But, as a new feature, it will also allow them to be created without associated geometry with the "Thermal loads" option in the tools menu. In this case, the users will have to associate them to each unit with the "Assign thermal loads" option:

As a result of the integration of new air conditioning systems in the program and in order to make its use easier, the presentation of the toolbars has been reorganised by joining them together in a single tab for all the elements of the system, and with the existing "Bill of quantities" tab. This way, users have all the elements needed to design the system, whatever type it may be, in the same tab.

As of version 2025.a, the program divides the management of equipment and products that can be selected for the system design into library elements and manufacturer elements:

For manufacturer elements, the program allows users to download catalogues with all the data necessary for the design, via the connection to the Open BIM Database. The control of the downloaded catalogues is carried out from the "Catalogue management" option in the program:

As of version 2025.a, there is an extension to the types of air conditioning systems that can be designed in the program. As a result, the following direct expansion systems have been added to the program: VRF, multisplit and 1x1 splits. Air-source heat pump systems have also been added as generators for water-based air-conditioning systems.

In version 2025.a, CYPE Menu (which can now be downloaded exclusively from the BIMserver.center platform) has new program groups.

Most of the CYPE applications are sorted into these groups. In previous versions, most of these applications could only be downloaded as single applications from the BIMserver.center platform.

By downloading and installing CYPE Menu, users will only have the CYPE programs menu installed, but none of the applications included in it will be downloaded or installed. Initially, each of the icons representing the CYPE Menu applications appears in a box with a grey background. When clicking on any of them for the first time (or on the button under the application's name), a contextual menu will appear allowing users to download and install the latest version of that application or an earlier version if available. Earlier versions (from 2024 onwards) will be available for those programs that include paid modules. Normally, free applications will only allow the latest version of these programs to be installed. Any installed version of any application can be uninstalled.

When an application has been installed, by clicking on the button under its name, the context menu that appears includes the "Uninstall" option.
