NEW FEATURES
2026.a Version
New vibration modal analysis module in CYPE 3D
As of version 2026.a, CYPE 3D will include a modal vibration analysis module, an essential feature for evaluating how a structure responds to dynamic loads such as wind, traffic or earthquakes. The program carries out a modal analysis of the structure, showing detailed and visual results that optimise the design to ensure that it remains within acceptable limits.
Modal spectral analysis with non-linear combinations in CYPE 3D
As of version 2026.a, CYPE 3D will include the option of considering seismic action by means of a spectral modal analysis when launching a non-linear analysis. Non-linear combinations (NLC) involving seismic loads can be defined. Once the analyses have been carried out, we can consult the Justification of seismic action report, and view the groups of combinations generated and the results of the spectral modal analysis for each of them.
Completely revamped interface for CYPE 3D
In CYPE 3D, a new interface has been implemented with a ribbon at the top, replacing the previous interface based on drop-down menus. This streamlines access to the different tools in the program and improves the user experience. The options visible in the ribbon depend on which tab is open.
New module for designing lightweight slabs in CYPECAD
With the "Lightweight slabs" module, CYPECAD analyses and designs lightweight slab floors, made up of two different zones: lightened and infilled. Lightweight slabs are selected from the manufacturer's catalogues integrated in the program, which are available via the "Open BIM Database". The slab edge must be large enough to hold the lightweight element, and the program offers the option of displaying only those that are compatible with the slab edge. A new section, "Lightweight slabs", has been added to the "Slabs" menu, which includes all the specific functions for this type of slab, such as "Enter lightweight slabs", "Generate lightweight elements" or "Generate solid zones", among others.
Checking ground pressure diagrams in footings in CYPECAD and CYPE 3D
It is now possible to consult the ground bearing pressure diagrams at the base of the footings in CYPECAD and CYPE 3D. As a result, the suitability of the solution adopted for the foundation can be assessed, as well as the distribution of loads on the ground and the behaviour of each footing.
Reinforcing the transverse reinforcement of columns while maintaining the longitudinal reinforcement in CYPECAD and CYPE 3D
A new option has been added in the column editor that can be used to design the transverse reinforcement of all columns while maintaining the existing longitudinal reinforcement. The option, called "Trans. reinf. all", is available in the "Redesign" group.
Improved stairs and ramps in CYPECAD
Version 2026.a includes new features for stairs and ramps in CYPECAD, such as the checking of stresses and displacements by combinations (previously only by simple loads), the editing of the initial floor plan of stairs and ramps, or the modification of the angle of a staircase in any group ("Rotate a stair core" option).
Options for the configuration of element references in CYPE 3D
New options have been implemented to configure the references of the elements (nodes, bars, parts and shells) according to the user's preference. In addition, the references of previously entered elements are maintained when deleting or adding new elements.
Checking CQC stresses for seismic loads in CYPECAD and CYPE 3D
Should the modal spectral analysis be selected to consider the effect of earthquake, the maximum response of the structure in the seismic load is estimated by combining the results of the modes of vibration by means of the Complete Quadratic Combination (CQC). In versions prior to 2026.a, only seismic load stresses, reactions, displacements, etc. could be checked for the seismic scenario by mode. This is now also possible for the CQC modal combination.
Autosave in CYPE 3D
Two options are provided for automatic saving of the work (Configuration menu > Auto Save Options). Two modes can be activated individually or simultaneously: "Automatically save every ... minutes", which saves the job automatically every time an action occurs in the environment and the specified time interval elapses, and "Save after analysing or designing", which saves the job automatically if the structure is designed. Neither of the two options is activated by default, so users must activate the desired options.
Other improvements and corrections in CYPECAD
La versión 2026.a de CYPECAD mejora la precisión y usabilidad del programa con nuevas funcionalidades, optimizaciones en la exportación y correcciones de errores puntuales. Para más detalles, se puede consultar el botón "Saber más".
Prequalified connections in CYPE Connect and StruBIM Steel
As of version 2026.a, prequalified connections can be used and checked when designing connections in CYPE Connect and StruBIM Steel with the codes that enable the option.
Prequalified connections are required in structures where the seismic-resisting system consists of moment frames, particularly in the case of special moment frames (SMF) or intermediate moment frames (IMF), in accordance with AISC 341.
New features and improvements in StruBIM Steel and CYPE Connect
In version 2026.a, new features and improvements have been implemented in StruBIM Steel and CYPE Connect, including the ability to define extended holes, draw bolt forces and bar loads in contour plot views, and select the dimension to be tagged in fillet welds. In addition, performance improvements have been implemented to optimise the speed and smoothness of use, as well as a new warning for poorly defined welds. Finally, operations can now be selected when exporting welds to a library.
New export options in StruBIM Steel
In StruBIM Steel version 2026.a, options have been implemented for exporting DXF plate files and exporting a selection of elements to DSTV format.
Improved graphical documents for StruBIM Shear Walls with the addition of elevation drawings
Version 2026.a of StruBIM Shear Walls incorporates tools that can automatically or manually generate drawings with shear wall elevations designed in StruBIM, making it easier to graphically document designs.
Increased performance with hardware graphics acceleration in IFC Builder
The IFC Builder program now features hardware acceleration, which has significantly optimised its performance. Thanks to this improvement, users can now work with templates in DXF or DWG format that contain a large amount of information, without affecting the smoothness of their display in the work area. This feature solves the limits that could be encountered when handling complex or large files. This improves the user experience in projects that include this type of information.
Integrated Panasonic products in CYPEHVAC
PANASONIC products have been incorporated into CYPEHVAC. To use them in the program, they must be loaded through the "Catalogue management" option, available in the "Project" group.
Modelling duct insulation in CYPEHVAC
The program can now model duct insulation. To do so, the new "Insulation" box is now available in the rigid duct input window. The defined insulation can be external or internal. This is only possible if the downloaded manufacturer's catalogues include this type of element.
New units in 1x1 split type installations in CYPEHVAC
New units have been incorporated for the definition of 1x1 split-type direct expansion systems in CYPEHVAC, including the possibility of inserting indoor units with ducted distribution.
Ergonomics improvements and new 3D tools in CYPEHVAC
New options have been added to improve the ergonomics of the data entry process in the program: improvements in the "Modify height position" option, saving the configuration of "Force elevation" when entering each type of element in the work area, modification of the orientation of the equipment when entering them by pressing the "Space" key and implementing of the new "Vertical pipe" option in the "Direct expansion" group.
Automatic layout of the water supply system in CYPEPLUMBING
Several features have been incorporated to enable the automatic layout of piping for different parts of the water supply system in CYPEPLUMBING. Users can later adjust and modify the generated geometry to suit the project's specific needs. The generation options can be found in the new "Generation" group, available in the top toolbar of the "Installation" tab (under "Water Systems").
Improved generation of water supply and plumbing diagrams in CYPEPLUMBING
Improvements have been made to the generation of diagrams in CYPEPLUMBING, including the possibility to generate diagrams of the indoor water supply system for each dwelling or supply valve, as well as those corresponding to the sections from the supply connection point to the meter assembly, and from the meter assembly to the consumer's supply valve. Plus, information on secondary and tertiary ventilation can now be included in the water drainage system diagrams.
Automatic balancing in the phase-by-phase analysis in CYPELEC
Up until now, the assignment of the power supply phases in single-phase and two-phase lines had to be done manually, by selecting the corresponding phase in the editing panel of each line. Now, the program can automatically carry out this phase assignment during the design process, seeking the best possible balance between the phases in the polyphase lines. To do this, the analysis by phases must be activated, and the new option "Automatic phase balancing", available in the dialogue box that appears when clicking on the "Design" option, must be checked.
Automated assignment of manufacturers to protective devices in CYPELEC
During the design process, the program can now automatically select and assign manufacturer models to the protection devices for which this option is available. To do this, the desired manufacturer's catalogue must be loaded, and the "Assign the protections from the selected manufacturer catalogue" option must be checked, which is available in the dialogue box that appears when clicking on the "Design" option.
Extended sections for large installations in CYPELEC
The cable library has been extended to include 400, 500 and 630 mm² sections. As a result, it is now possible to solve large-scale systems in CYPELEC with these sections. The analysis and design with these sections in the program is possible as long as there are maximum admissible current values for these sections in the tables of standard 60364-5-52.
New options for lightning protection systems in CYPELEC Distribution
New features have been incorporated for defining the lightning protection system in CYPELEC Distribution, including options for inserting and adjusting lightning rods and meshes, as well as the possibility of selecting products from manufacturer's catalogues in the conductors and in the masts of the early streamer emission lightning conductors (ESE).
Automatic distribution of lighting, now for the whole building, in CYPELUX
As of version 2026.a, CYPELUX incorporates the "Automatic distribution" tool in the "Lighting" group of the toolbar. This new feature can automatically generate a proposal for the lighting distribution for all areas in the building.
Improved correlation between "3D Model" and "Diagrams" and new checks in CYPETEL
As of version 2026.a, CYPETEL detects duplicate ID references and disconnected elements in the "3D model" tab, ensuring consistency in the design. Plus, improvements have been added to its tool for checking and correlating the infrastructure network diagram and the 3D model, including the automatic updating of conduit lengths.
