Licence permissions required to use CYPE software

The following link provides information on the permissions or modules required in the user licence to work with the various CYPE programs.

There are several ways to use CYPE software free of charge, either permanently, in the case of CYPE’s free software, or temporarily, in the case of software that requires the purchase of licences for professional use:

Free apps

If the app is free, it will not require any permissions while in use. See free CYPE apps.

Apps that include paid modules

If the app includes paid modules, please consider the following access options:

• If you are using the program in a professional environment for a real project, you must obtain the necessary permissions under your user licence to work with the program. If you hold a professional licence, please refer to the following link: Professional licence.
• If you are using the program in an academic environment (as is the case for students or teaching staff), you may use the program free of charge if there is an agreement in place with your educational institution by following this procedure: Campus licence.
• If you are evaluating the program for use in any type of environment, including a professional one, and therefore not using it on a real project, you may use the program free of charge by following this procedure: Evaluation licence.

Free CYPE apps

Registration on the BIMserver.center platform, developed by CYPE, is free for everyone and gives users access to the apps available in the BIMserver.center Store.

These include a large number of free apps. You are completely free to download, install and use these free apps, even for professional purposes on real-world projects. You can check the information provided for each app in the BIMserver.center Store to find out whether the program you are interested in is free (or, alternatively, whether it includes paid modules).

If you wish to use any of CYPE’s free apps, you must follow these steps:

1. Sign up, download and install the free app of your choice.
2. If you have any queries, problems or questions, you can get help via the technical support tools available to you.

Evaluation licence

What is it?

All paid CYPE applications offer a free-access option with a time limit: the evaluation licence (further information).

When using this licence, you can run the program for 30 calendar days. During this time, you can evaluate all its features. An internet connection is required.

This access option is designed to enable users to evaluate the program so that they can determine its suitability for their projects and consider purchasing it. At the end of the evaluation period, any work carried out can be opened, if desired, using a purchased professional licence.

Application and use

If you wish to use the evaluation licence for CYPE software, please follow these steps:

1. Apply for the evaluation licence using the form available via the following link to obtain a key:
   • Apply for an evaluation licence
2. Wait for the application to be assessed. Once approved, you will receive an evaluation licence key by email within 24 to 72 working hours.
3. Download and install the CYPE programs, either via the CYPE Menu or by installing individual apps.
4. After installation, enter the email address and password provided in "Licence management" within the CYPE Menu, or in the "File" menu in the individual program.
5. If you have any queries, problems or questions, please email soporte.edu@cype.com from the email address you used to register, and include your name.

Campus licence

What is it?

Students and teaching staff may use CYPE software for academic (non-professional) projects under the Campus licence.

The Campus licence is a type of temporary licence that allows CYPE programs and modules agreed with a university to be run for a specific period, usually an academic year (more information).

The Campus licence, in agreed cases, allows users to work with CYPE’s paid software, as well as other apps, some of which are also included on BIMserver.center.

Application and use

If you wish to use the Campus licence for CYPE programs, please follow these steps:

1. Check whether there is a Campus agreement in place with your university by accessing the list of educational institutions participating in the Campus licensing program:
   • View our partner educational institutions
2. Go to the educational institution’s dedicated page, where you will find the application form.
3. Complete the application form and accept the terms of use.
4. Wait for the application to be assessed. Once approved, you will receive a Campus licence code by email within 24 to 72 working hours. Normally, the Campus code must be renewed each year in order to use it for the following academic year.
5. Download and install CYPE software either via the CYPE Menu or by installing individual apps.
6. After installation, enter the email address and password provided in "Licence management" within the CYPE Menu, or in the "File" menu in the individual program.
7. If you have any queries, problems or questions, please email soporte.edu@cype.com from the email address you used to register, and include your name.
