Version 2027.a includes elastic second-order analysis in CYPE 3D. This new feature enables accounting for second-order effects (P-δ and P-Δ) arising from geometric non-linearity in "Stress/Strain", "Modal" and "Pushover" analyses.

To use this feature, the license must include the "OpenSees" module.

Version 2027.a expands the international reach of CYPE programs through the implementation of new standards:

  • CYPECAD – Wind and seismic loads: Argentina CIRSOC 102-2025 and International ASCE 7-22
  • CYPECAD – Load combinations: Brazil NBR 8681:2025
  • CYPECAD, Portal frame generator, StruBIM Cantilever Walls, StruBIM Embedded Walls, Corbels, Continuous beams, Foundation elements and Punching shear verification – Concrete structures: Brazil ABNT NBR 6118:2026

As of version 2027.a, all StruBIM Steel features have been integrated into CYPE Connect, resulting in a single, more comprehensive, efficient and consistent solution. The new CYPE Connect environment can generate the graphic documentation for the structure, including both connection details and views of the entire structure.

The new version of CYPE Connect includes two work modes, "Project" and "Fabrication", designed to meet users’ needs at different stages of the structural design process. The "Project" mode is aimed at technical documentation specific to the structural design, whilst the "Fabrication" mode focuses on technical documentation for workshop fabrication and on-site assembly processes.

As of version 2027.a, CYPE Connect now features a library of predefined connections in the cloud, ensuring that it is constantly updated and providing immediate access to new connection types. This feature makes it easier to model connections using ready-to-use parametric solutions, saving time and simplifying day-to-day work.

The "Generate" tool has been enhanced in this version, incorporating new features that streamline the process of defining connections. In addition to enabling the automatic generation of nodes based on the model’s geometry, it can now automatically define the associated connections.

Operation group parameterisation has been incorporated, allowing you to define customisable variables that automatically control the parameters of each operation. This facilitates the creation of reusable configurations that are more flexible and adaptable, reducing modelling time and improving efficiency when defining connections.

Version 2027.a includes several improvements and fixes for CYPECAD and CYPE Connect, including performance optimisations, usability improvements, new features and the resolution of issues reported by users. For further details, please click the "Details" button.

CYPECAD

Version 2027.a of CYPECAD includes the following improvements and corrections for some specific cases:

  • The process for generating lightening elements in lightweight slabs has been optimised, improving performance and reducing the time required to generate them, particularly in large-area floor slabs.
  • The generation of solid zones in lightweight slabs has been improved (using the "Generate solid zones" tool).
  • The COBIAX manufacturer’s catalogue for lightening elements in lightweight slabs has been incorporated, available via the "Open BIM Database".
  • The ‘Generic section’ type column section editor has been improved. Now, if consecutive points are entered with very close but not identical X or Y coordinates, the program displays a warning prompting you to check whether the value is correct or if there has been an input error. The warning is displayed when the distance between points does not exceed 1 mm. Similarly, a warning is issued if the "Main axes" angle is very close to, but not equal to, 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, 180°, 225°, 270° or 315°. The warning is displayed when the difference does not exceed 0.5°. These inaccuracies can cause instability in the calculation algorithms. Therefore, the program detects them and issues a warning to facilitate their review and correction.
  • The reconstruction of beam-to-column connections has been improved following the addition of columns or changes to their cross-section or position. In such cases, when switching from the "Column definition" tab to the "Beam definition" tab, a message such as the following is displayed: "The position of a column has been modified in groups '...'. If beams intersect with these columns, the intersections must be recreated to be able to analyse the project. The program can try and recreate these intersections, but, depending on how complex they are, the task may not be accomplished successfully. Do you want the program to try and recreate these intersections?" If you answer "Yes", the program performs the necessary operations to recalculate the connections. On some occasions, this may cause an internal error; if this occurs, the program returns to the "Column definition" tab without having re-created the connections. In that case, you can return to the "Beam definition" tab, answer “No” to the question, and manually re-create the beam connections with those columns. Depending on the geometry entered, in most cases simply use the ‘Beams – Move’ option with a value of 0 for the affected beams. In other cases, the beams must be trimmed and reconnected to the column.
  • The process for saving the project has been improved. Now, before saving, the system checks that the directory exists and is writable. If either check fails, users can select an alternative directory, ensuring that any changes made are not lost.
  • The "Surface loads on slabs" tool has been improved. When selecting a panel that contains another inner panel, the surface load is now automatically broken down into several loads to prevent it from being applied to the inner panel.
  • The "Loads - Loads" tool has been improved so that, when adding new loads, or editing, assigning, deleting and moving loads, the selected views are maintained as far as possible (for example, if linear loads are not visible and a linear load is added, these will be visible during the addition process).
  • The "Search references" tool has been improved. Now, in some warnings, the internal identifier is displayed as a reference to locate elements. These references are of the type idc# (for columns), idw# (for walls), idb# (for beams), ids# (for slabs).
  • The process for obtaining reinforcement for shear stresses has been improved. Although there may still be cases where, due to an internal error, it is not possible to obtain the reinforcement for a particular group of floors, the reinforcement for the remaining groups will be calculated correctly.
  • An error that occurred when checking the integrity of defined walls has been resolved. In some cases, the program might display the following message "You need to check the pressure laws on walls "...". These walls have a pressure law applied that has been removed from the list.’, when in fact no pressure laws had been deleted from the walls.
  • The "List of integrated 3D structures" tool has been improved. It is now possible to edit the name of any integrated 3D structure.
  • Export to IFC has been improved. Information regarding the connectors of composite beams has been added.
  • The process of deleting sections of walls has been improved, preventing internal errors that sometimes occurred during this operation.
  • An error that occurred when viewing the 3D view of a project whilst the "Forms" option was enabled has been resolved.
  • The design of anchor plates for columns that start on top of another column has been improved. In these cases, the program could display an error related to the minimum bolt length.
  • The check performed when saving floor plans of beams overlapping columns has been improved. In some very rare cases, the program could report a non-existent overlap.
  • Several errors that occurred when inserting straight horizontal spans in a ramp have been resolved.
  • An error that could occur when designing columns has been resolved. This error occurred when, in the Column reinforcement tables, diameters were selected in "Available diameters - Rectangular columns - Faces" that were not selected in "Available diameters - Rectangular columns - Corners".
  • A considerable number of errors reported by users of the program via CYPE Crash Reporter have been resolved. Some of these have been fully resolved, whilst others have been resolved only within the scope in which they were detected.

CYPE Connect

Version 2027.a of CYPE Connect includes the following improvements and new features:

The part references of a section are now displayed in the 3D view when using connection editing operations. This numbering system facilitates the location and selection of the corresponding elements.

It is now possible to define more than one bar with the "Bearing" property within the same connection.

New section types have been implemented and are now supported by the connection editor: reinforced box section, double-webbed box section with plates, and double-T section with side plates.

Two new tools have been implemented to add or remove sections from a connection.

As of version 2027.a, the new CYPETHERM program incorporates the features of the CYPETHERM EPlus, CYPETHERM SCE-CS Plus, CYPETHERM SCE-HAB Model, CYPETHERM RE2020 and CYPETHERM LOADS apps.

French energy regulations have been implemented in the energy analysis programs CYPETHERM RE2020 and ELODIE by CYPE. Furthermore, CYPETHERM RE2020 now includes the Titre V procedure of the RE2020 regulations for NIBE, enabling technical solutions recognised under this official procedure to be incorporated into the analyses.

Version 2027.a now includes the integration of the PVGIS API into CYPE PV Systems for analysing energy production in photovoltaic systems. The analysis method can now be selected between the IDAE methodology, which allows solar parameters to be entered manually without the need for an internet connection, and PVGIS, which automatically retrieves solar radiation data from the official database developed by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC).

CYPE PV Systems now has a new feature that simulates the sun's path over the site throughout the year, enabling users to assess the impact of surrounding shadows on the photovoltaic installation.

Generic libraries are loaded automatically when CYPEHVAC is launched, eliminating intermediate steps and reducing the number of clicks required to start working.

CYPELUX’s “Automatic layout” tool now allows you to define the reference plane relative to the ceiling, making it easier to position recessed lights in ceilings of varying heights automatically.

CYPEPLUMBING has added a new tool to the “Edit” panel for creating and managing customised layers, which are added as a new section in the “Layer configuration” side panel. This feature can be used to add or remove elements from each layer individually, controlling how they are displayed and snapped in the model.

The hydraulic network design tool in CYPEFIRE Hydraulic Systems has been updated. As of version 2027.a, a topological analysis of the networks entered is carried out. Thanks to this analysis, the program can create an exclusive supply graph that determines the number of consumption points supplied for each pipe in the network and calculates the optimal pipe size to meet regulatory requirements.

The mapping of spaces and equipment imported from the BIM model has been improved. The program can now assign new properties to spaces imported from the IFC file in the data import wizard. Furthermore, it is possible to generate fire protection equipment imported from the BIM model, such as fire hose reels, and outlets or inlets for dry and/or wet risers.

A new tool has been added to the "Diagrams" tab for the automatic generation of fire protection system diagrams. This feature allows you to automatically generate a diagram of the fire extinguishing system on a sheet in the appropriate format.

Processes have been implemented for the initial generation of vertical passages, booster sets and tanks, and for the generation of manifolds to enable the automatic connection between components of sprinkler systems, fire hose reels, and wet and dry risers, using new tools available in the "Generation" section.

CYAs of 2027.a, CYPELEC has been adapted to Polish regulations and documentation requirements. Low-voltage electrical installations can now be designed and analysed in accordance with the PN-IEC standard.

Version 2027.a now includes a new product selector in CYPETEL to make it easier to find, select and configure products from manufacturers’ catalogues. This tool, available on the main bar of the "Diagrams: Analysis" and "Diagrams: Detail" tabs, within the "Project" section, allows you to view and filter catalogue elements to quickly locate specific products.

Version 2027.a includes a new example project in CYPETEL: "Single-Family Dwelling (UNE 133100-8)". This example has been developed in accordance with UNE 133100-8, the Spanish standard for fibre-optic telecommunications infrastructures in buildings that are not covered by the traditional Common Telecommunications Infrastructure (ICT) framework used in Spain.

Version 2027.a includes a tool that automatically routes down conductors through the pylons within the model, based on the previously selected collection of conductors. In addition, the tool automatically incorporates manholes and test clamps, the latter being sourced from manufacturer catalogues available in the Open BIM Database.

Several CYPE apps, including IFC Builder and CYPE Architecture, include a new feature for automatically converting DXF/DWG templates into 3D/BIM models, enabling the graphical information in the drawings to be interpreted to generate structural elements for the model. Among the elements that can be generated automatically are walls and partitions, as well as the building’s floor slabs. The license must include the "Automatic entry" module for this feature to work.

Version 2027.a of the Open BIM – Revit Plugin now includes the ability to generate native Revit elements from an IFC file containing HVAC systems. This feature can be used to convert pipes and ducts by assigning types previously loaded into the model, as well as to generate mechanical equipment by assigning existing families or automatically generating new ones.

Version 2027.a of the Open BIM – Revit Plugin now includes the ability to generate native Revit elements from an IFC file containing luminaires, using two methods: assigning existing families previously loaded into the model, or automatically generating new families based on the geometry and properties contained in the IFC file.

As of version 2027.a, CYPE’s Revit plugin, "Plugin Open BIM – Revit", includes a new automatic notification system in the "Open BIM Project information panel" to inform users that new versions of the plugin are available.

From version 2027.a onwards, CYPE’s Revit plugins, “Open BIM – Revit plugin ” and “MedBIM – Revit plugin ” (the latter included in the Arquímedes module "Bill of quantities of BIM models"), are compatible with Revit version 2027.
